A native New Englander, Jessalyn focuses on ecological solutions to stormwater management, accessibility, and sustainable garden design. Each of her gardens evoke artful relationships between outside and inside. Jessalyn is a registered landscape architect with over twenty years of experience working within the disciplines of architecture and landscape architecture. Prior to starting her own studio in Cambridge, she was an Associate with LeBlanc Jones (formerly Keith LeBlanc Landscape Architecture). Emma’s projects find her interacting with complex networks of design and engineering professionals, local craftsmen, and regionally-sourced materials; Emma sees her role as steering a creative conversation with clients and properties – building unique landscapes that fit unique goals. Practicing primarily in Maine and focusing on residential landscapes, Emma believes deeply in the power of place-making: our ability to shape the spaces around us into crucibles for future meaning and memories. In her first 10 years of professional practice, Emma honed her technical and managerial skills on large-scale environmental-, public-, and institutionally-focused projects throughout the US with Hargreaves Associates, and more intimately scaled regionally-sensitive and context-specific New England design with Richardson & Associates. While primarily dedicated to residential projects, she additionally has served public, institutional, and nonprofit clients as well. Dani brings to her projects her passion for story and belief that putting people in touch with nature instills a deep sense of well-being. She finds inspiration in the stories her clients share about their experiences in landscapes; places they knew as children, encountered through travel, or cared for themselves. The narratives help her build strong connections between her clients and their newly designed landscapes.
